BSc (Hons) Finance and Investment (Top Up)

Course Description

As a ‘top up’ student, you will study a mix of three recommended modules along with a choice of three additional option modules. Each module, worth 20 credits, has been designed to provide you with an advanced understanding of finance with an international perspective. Recommended finance modules: * Theory and Practice of Equity Trading * Introduction to Corporate Finance * Finance Research Option modules: * Corporate Governance in Financial Institutions * International Financial Management * International issues in Accounting and Audit * Forensic Accounting Learning and teaching methods Our finance ‘top up’ degree is taught using a variety of approaches including lectures, workshops, tutorials and computer laboratory based classes. As an accounting and finance student, you will also have access to a fully equipped simulated ‘trading room’ providing an ideal setting to gain a hands-on introduction to the theory and practice of equity trading.

Career outcomes

The course prepares you for a career in a variety of financial institutions including banks, investment management, consultancy and equity trading (to name a but few). Through this finance course you will develop key skills that employers value such as numerical and quantitative skills and the ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
