Course Description

The course provides you with an insight into the day-to-day life of a HR practitioner, ensuring you develop workplace skills and experience, gain the latest research-informed knowledge and insights and are ready to put theory into practice. It is aimed at people who want to work in • specialist roles within the HR function in organisations such as resourcing, development, employee relations and HR administration • generic HR roles • line management roles within functional areas e.g. administration, quality etc. • self employed roles where management of people will be required. During the course you • gain industry knowledge through the HR network • improve your applied research capabilities to inform strategic thinking • design and develop the curricula with your peers and tutors • develop your ability to challenge thinking through ethical practice. Studying the course enables you to work effectively in environments where the management of people is integral to either the role or you personally. We use a range of assessments to help you show evidence of your skills to potential employers and demonstrate your ability to put theory into practice. Projects include designing and delivering a learning session with your peers and developing a reflective blog discussing key strategic HR practices.
