Course Description

Advanced Diploma in Animation Intakes: January, April, July and October Duration: 2 Years (Full-time) COURSE OVERVIEW The course gives students the creative and technical knowledge and skills they need to become professionals in the animation industry. The emphasis is placed on the design and production aspects of 2D and 3D animation, including life drawing as well as background and character design. To enhance their competitive edge in the digital age, students learn to use state-of-the-art editing equipment in pre-production, production and post-production. They also acquire skills for creating moving imagery and special effects, which are currently in demand in the local and international film media and entertainment industries. ASSESSMENT METHODS All modules will be assessed through a combination of assessments, tests, class participation and written examinations. To be awarded the Advanced Diploma, students will need to achieve a passing mark of 50% for all modules. For Degree and Master programmes, students will need to achieve the passing grade stipulated by the University for all modules. TEACHING AND LEARNING It is essential that a student is subjected to a broad range of views and experiences in order that the learning process may elicit, sometimes over a prolonged period, appropriate routes for a person to take, particularly in the latter stages of the Programme.
