BA/BSc Combined Honours Abuse Studies / Dance

Course Description

Our Abuse Studies and Dance courses have been combined to offer you the opportunity to study two different subjects at degree level. This combination will enable you to benefit from high quality teaching across two courses and will provide you with greater career options. The course will provide you with a chance to study how abuse occurs in various contexts. It also provides you with the opportunity to undertake voluntary work within different communities to understand the issues in ‘real world’ settings. The programme critically examines abuse providing knowledge and understanding of the key forms of abuse; the way it can be identified and conceptualised; reasons for its occurrence in different contexts and ways of helping those who experience it and working with survivors. Throughout your study with us you’ll be offered a wealth of opportunities to study choreography, ballet and contemporary techniques, professional repertory and new dance works, reading and writing about dance, dance research, Labanotation, dance kinesiology and anatomy, dance-music relationship, dance film, dance facilitation, community dance, dance funding applications, improvisation, and dance history.

Career outcomes

Social science disciplines lend themselves to a wide range of graduate occupations.
