The programme is a 1 year full-time higher Diploma (NQAI Level 8) intended to allow graduates from level 7 business programmes to pursue an add-on level 8 qualification in order to equip them for entry-level management positions in the international hospitality sector or to facilitate their progression to postgraduate level. The programme is designed to support students in performing their duties as part of a hospitality management team and to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to effect change and achieve excellence in hospitality operations management

Graduates of this programme will have the professional and operational competencies required to avail of employment opportunities at junior management positions within the international hospitality sector. However, it is a realistic expectation of the programme board that graduates will, with appropriate work experience, progress to middle and senior management positions within a relatively short time period after graduation.
