A third of the majors also complete majors or minors in other disciplines including mathematics, a foreign language, or another social science. More than half of the majors complete internships, many of them paid. About half study abroad at some time during their undergraduate years most frequently in the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. About two-thirds of the majors plan to complete MBA degrees; a fifth plan to complete law degrees. Three or four graduates enter PhD programs in economics each year; about the same number enroll in medical schools.
