Materials science and engineering inter-twines numerous disciplines, including chemistry, physics and engineering. This is the one discipline within the College of Engineering that still gives the students the opportunity to study science as well as an engineering degree. Materials Scientists apply the principles of physics and chemistry to engineering problems, designing and developing new materials.
