UMBC’s Department of Chemical, Biochemical & Environmental Engineering offers a course of study leading to a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, satisfying criteria for accreditation set by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Recent graduates of the department have gone on to positions as chemical engineers at W.R. Grace, DuPont, Corning, Exxon, Merck, FMC, International Paper and many other major companies. Additional opportunities are presented by the research and development activities of many public and private research institutes and allied agencies.
