Career outcomes

Careers in Human Resources can be general or of a more specialized nature. Specializations include staffing, training, performance and compensation including both salaries and benefits. The Bureau of Labor Statistics believes that the industry will expand at a higher rate than other careers through 2020 and currently the median compensation is more than $52,000 a year. (BLS.gov) HR practitioners structure staffing programs to recruit and retain the best employees by making the company competitive in terms of its attractiveness to potential candidates, so that they will choose to accept a position with and remain working for an employer. In today’s competitive environment, human capital management is critically important to remain viable in the global marketplace. As a result, HR plays a pivotal role in the world—because people are truly the only thing that differentiates one business from another. Organizations may replicate processes, materials and structures of other successful organizations, but only the talent of an organization makes it unique and distinguishes it from all its competitors.
