Materials science is an interdisciplinary field, at the forefront of science and engineering. In the 21st century, we truly live in a "materials world", and a sustainable future largely depends on materials with increasingly sophisticated properties. Through the discovery of novel materials and by looking into ways to manipulate the properties to make promising materials stronger or "smarter", our MSE faculty and students work towards solving tomorrow's technological challenges and are impacting people's lives in countless ways.
