Course Description

Ryerson’s Collaborative Nursing Degree Program — offered in partnership with Centennial College and George Brown College — is a leading-edge learning and clinical environment committed to preparing nursing leaders who are highly competent, knowledgeable and committed to playing an integral role in shaping our health care future. Your studies can begin at any one of three sites: Ryerson, Centennial or George Brown. In the first two years, each school offers the same curriculum. You then move to Ryerson for your third and fourth years, and graduate with a degree from Ryerson. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, you will be eligible to write the College of Nurses of Ontario registration examination and accept entry-level positions in a variety of settings where nursing is practiced.

The career choices open to Registered Nurses today are unlimited. As a graduate of the Collaborative Nursing Degree Program, you will find opportunities for a career: In the community: in public health nursing, home care nursing, community health nursing and working in ambulatory clinics, health centres, primary health care facilities, street health organizations, occupational health settings, and long term care settings. In acute care and hospital settings: providing care to patients with acute and chronic conditions across a variety of units as well as in areas like rehabilitation and outpatient care. In research: working in areas of research and implementation, as members of interprofessional and nursing research teams. In global health settings: in addition to opportunities across Ontario, graduates of the Post Diploma Degree program can find opportunities as part of emergency, relief and community-building teams across the globe.
