Course Description

The Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Quality Control program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills in all areas that impact drug quality. The program is innovative and unique in offering in-depth, hands-on learning provided by full-time research faculty with both academic and industry experience. You will study in a GMP compliant facility with modern state-of-the art equipment where you will gain valuable experience in pharmaceutical analytical instrumentation, documentation, GMP compliance, auditing, technical writing and quality assurance processes and procedures.

In this program, you will learn and acquire specialized knowledge and practical skills required to function as a Quality Assurance or Quality Control personnel in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food, cosmetics, and other life-science industries. Quality Assurance professionals are responsible for developing, monitoring and overseeing measures that assures control, reproducibility and reliability of manufacturing and testing processes. Through their activities, Quality Assurance professionals are responsible for ensuring that the Company meets government requirements as well as providing assurance of safety and efficacy of medicines to the consumers. Quality Control personnel conduct sampling and testing required to evaluate compliance of the manufactured products to compendial standards of safety and effectiveness. Graduates of this program enjoy a high percentage employment rate and work for both multinational and generic company employers such as GSK, Apotex, Patheon, Novopharm, AstraZeneca, Health Canada, Sanofi-Aventis CML and Wyeth. They also find employment in other industries such as petrochemical, natural health and nutraceuticals.
