Career outcomes

Chemical Engineering Technology graduates work with chemists and engineers in laboratory and industrial aspects of the chemical industries. On the laboratory side, careers are found in research and development, quality control, production support, and technical service and sales. On the industrial side, careers range from plant operations (using the latest in computer control systems) to technical sales and service for industrial equipment and chemicals. Chemical Engineering Technology graduates may work their way up to supervisory and management positions in both the laboratory and industry. The Chemical Engineering Technology Program is nationally accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board. Graduates have completed all the academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Additional requirements for certification exist and are established by OACETT. Graduates are also eligible for membership in the Chemical Institute of Canada.
