The Associate in Arts degree in Art will provide the student with a basic foundation in art principles and practices. Selected courses will include study in art history and studio practice in the creation of both two and three-dimensional works of art. The Art degree is designed for transfer to a four-year university or college, and for students who are interested in furthering skills in the visual arts.

Program Learning Outcomes Students will demonstrate the ability to analyze visual art. Students will demonstrate creative problem solving, in the areas of form, content, function, and expression. Students will demonstrate skills and techniques used in multiple media to produce visual art. Students will demonstrate the appropriate use of terminology pertinent to the media or the field. Students will demonstrate an understanding of art in its historical context, including the social, political, economic, and religious context.
