Course Description

Education majors at SLU take courses in a specific sequence. The first block addresses issues related to classroom observation. You'll also study learning theory and examine schools as a social system, as well as learn about human growth and development. The second block examines diversity in the classroom, learning styles, exceptionality and different styles of teaching. The remaining blocks are dedicated to methods of teaching subject matter areas and levels, diagnosing learning problems and developing learning activities. The program culminates with a block dedicated to teaching in professional environments.
