The educational objectives of the B.Eng. (Computer Engineering) programme are to graduate students who, 5 years after their graduation, 1. are technically competent to solve complex problems in computer engineering and can adapt effectively in a fast changing environment (Technical skills) 2. are able to critically think, analyse and make decisions that give due consideration to global issues in business, ethics, society and the environment (Thinking skills and judgment) 3. are able to communicate effectively, act with integrity, and have the inter-personal skills needed to engage in, lead, and nurture diverse teams (Leadership, team building) 4. are committed to lifelong learning, resourceful, resilient and can embrace global challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact in society. (Attitude) Computer engineers have a balanced education in electrical engineering, software design and hardware/software integration. They are involved in many aspects of computing, from the low level circuit designs using computing components to large scale integration involving intelligent systems, energy management, monitoring and supervision, information processing systems and communications.
