Diploma of Business Administration Level 5

Course Description

The Diploma of Business Administration was first approved by NZQA in 2002 and taught initially by ACG Business School, which was renamed ICL Business School in 2007. The diplomas were initially linked to La Trobe University and aimed at gaining second year entry to university in Australia or more frequently NZ. It is an eight-month programme with entry from High School graduation and IELTS 5.5 overall. The aims of the course are to allow graduates to develop a broad range of business skills and knowledge in order to: provide students with a pathway into a degree programme offered by a university with maximum accelerated standing; give students the option of exiting the course at Diploma level (Level 5) with a credible qualification. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE Students take eight papers equivalent to the first year of a university bachelor degree; three papers per trimester on the evening timetable or four papers per trimester on the daytime timetable. Papers taken are: 5200 Accounting for Management Decisions 5230 Foundations of Management 5241 Marketing Principles and Practice 5220 Microeconomics 5221 Macroeconomics 5210 Introduction to Business Law 5143 Introductory Statistics for Business 5150 Management Information Systems
