Accounting is the study of methods involved in making a financial record of business transactions and the preparation of statements concerning the assets, liabilities, and operating results of a business. Accounting majors study economic and managerial perspectives on the relationships among business activity, economic outcomes, and evaluation of business performance. Accounting graduates who meet the requirements of the State Board of Public Accountancy of Indiana are eligible to sit for the Uniform CPA Examination in Indiana.

The accounting curriculum prepares students for careers in auditing, corporate accounting, management consulting, governmental and not-for-profit organizations, and taxation. The accounting curriculum also provides an excellent background for students who want to pursue graduate work in business, public administration, or law.
