Course Description

The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's degree offers counseling courses under the guidance of a nationally recognized faculty dedicated to your career endeavors. The program is designed to develop knowledge and skills in nine essential areas: human growth and development, the helping relationship, lifestyle and career development, research and evaluation, social and cultural foundations, group counseling, individual appraisal, professional orientation, and clinical skills. Students can pursue a 60-hour Master of Arts (MA) degree in clinical mental health counseling or a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) degree in clinical mental health counseling. The former prepares students to work in a variety of human service centers, including mental health, substance abuse, and crisis counseling. Both nationally accredited programs afford students excellent opportunities for internships, research, and postgraduate employment.
