Endodontic Practice

Course Description

This programme is uniquely structured to enable dental practitioners to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills in endodontics. Requiring attendance one day every fortnight for three calendar years, it is ideally suited for the busy dental practitioner keen on acquiring a postgraduate qualification in endodontics whilst continuing to work in practice. The programme provides an in-depth approach for exploring current concepts in clinical endodontics, offering deeper knowledge and understanding of the subject, improving clinical skills and increasing job satisfaction. There will be opportunities to access current endodontic concepts and research, exchange ideas and experience with other postgraduate students. This MSc is also suitable if you wish to be qualified to work as a Dentist with Special Interests (DwSIs) in Endodontics, an initiative jointly developed by the Department of Health (England) and the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK). However, it will not lead to entry into the General Dental Council (UK) Endodontic Specialist Register

Career outcomes

This programme will enable you to gain the additional knowledge and skills necessary to treat a variety of endodontic cases. It will expand the horizon of manageable endodontic scenarios and offer increased job satisfaction. There is increasing emphasis on delivery of dental care in a primary setting, reducing the need to refer to secondary and tertiary care centres. Completion of this programme will help improve endodontic service delivery in your everyday clinical practice. You may also enjoy the opportunity to work as a Dentist with Special Interests (DwSIs) in Endodontics, an initiative jointly developed by the Department of Health (England) and the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK).
