The Bachelor of Arts in History provides the student with a fuller understanding of self and society. By studying the fascinating developments of past cultures, historians seek to better comprehend who we are today and where we are going. On a more pragmatic level, the Bachelor of Arts in History offers rigorous training in critical thinking, research and writing skills highly valued in today's job market. Students majoring in history may choose to concentrate in American, European or Non-Western history. Training in public history is also a strength of the department.
