This three-year research degree suits students wanting to study Composition (including Sonic Arts) or Performance at the highest professional level. Part 1 (year 1) comprises coursework, the preparation of a research proposal for the exegesis, and creative research expressed through either a public recital or a portfolio of compositions or sound-based works. Part 2 (years 2-3) comprises research demonstrated through creative work and an exegesis, a substantive piece of writing that offers a critical perspective on the creative work.
