Environmental Planning is based on the recognition that environmental problems and solutions involve social, economic and cultural dimensions as well as the natural and physical environment. The Environmental Planning programme at Waikato is strongly interdisciplinary. Students are encouraged to see the links between human behaviour and environmental consequences through papers which combine social science and the natural sciences. The programme aims to provide students with knowledge and skills for careers in sustainable development of urban and rural communities and the management of resources.
