Course Description

It is impossible to truly understand New Zealand without understanding the influence of the tangata whenua (people of the land) in every area of New Zealand life, from language and the arts to politics, natural history and the law. Māori studies is a broad subject that covers language, tikanga (culture), performing arts and economic, environmental, cultural and social developments as they pertain to Māori and other indigenous peoples.
