This degree provides you with a broad based education in the key electronic & electrical engineering technologies, whilst developing fundamental technical expertise and necessary analytical skills. You can opt to take selected non-technical classes, developing commercial awareness, legal issues, and management skills. Studying the subject give you a route to a wide and varied choice of exciting and excellent careers. Years 1 to 3 provide the core fundamentals needed by all engineers. In addition, you complete business, finance and management classes to refine your awareness and business acumen skills. Throughout the course you can opt to take selected non-technical classes, developing commercial awareness, legal issues, and project management skills for professional engineers. A number of industrial placement opportunities exist throughout the degree courses, including internships with Sun Microsystems at California and Denver. In addition to academic studies, there are also opportunities to get involved with engineering activites such as Formula Student, where university students are challenged to design, build, develop, market and compete as a team with a single seat racing car or the Eurobot competition, an international amateur robotics contest which takes place in Europe.
