This course is one of 11 themes within the Faculty of Engineering's multidisciplinary Postgraduate Training Package in Sustainable Engineering. This one-year course is an instructional programme leading to the award of the MSc degree or Postgraduate Diploma and is designed for experienced or newly qualified engineers in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related disciplines. The main objectives are: * To produce high calibre engineers trained to the post-graduate level and well-versed in advanced engineering in Marine Technology and related fields. * To offer able and mature practising engineers a full- or part-time programme to enhance their qualifications and skills.

The graduates are prepared for openings in a wide range of challenging and rewarding careers in the marine and related industries. These include design and construction of all types of marine vechicles; project management, systems design; safety management; support services; classification societies and consultancy services.
