These relatively new disciplines are the key to explaining the link between brain and behaviour. Cognitive neuroscience relates cognitive and behavioural functions to the underlying brain systems. Computational neuroscience uses data to construct models of brain function. On this course, you'll develop a critical understanding of both fields, and an appreciation of different approaches to understanding brain function. The computational and analytical skills you'll learn are the perfect foundation for further research. There are lectures, seminars and laboratory classes. We also run extra support classes in maths, programming and neuroscience. You're assessed on exams at the end of semesters one and two, and an extensive empirical research project over the summer.
