Your learning is complemented by a year working in a mechanical engineering company. This will put your academic studies into context and improve your skills and employability. You'll follow a core syllabus in the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, mathematics and management. Optional modules and an extended individual project mean you can specialise in your area of interest. Depending on your performance, you may be able to switch to the MEng degree at the end of your second year. You'll take your year's placement in industry with one of our partners after you've completed your three years of study.

Our graduates have gone on to careers in manufacturing, transport, power generation or engineering consultancies. Many work with prestigious companies such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Atkins, Siemens, Arup, Jaguar Land Rover, Interfleet Technology, Network Rail and Transport for London.
