This degree provides a solid basis in the underlying science of materials for the first two years, using real situations to give you a good understanding of practical applications. You'll learn how to tailor the structure, composition and processing of materials to meet design requirements. From the third year onwards you'll specialise in nuclear engineering and technology, and complete a five-month paid work placement in the nuclear sector. Designed in consultation with the nuclear industry, this course is fully accredited by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
