Meng(Materials Science and Engineering (Industrial Management)

Course Description

This course incorporates business modules from the Management School. Along with extensive study in materials science, you'll take modules including behavioural approaches to the study of organisations, and understanding a market economy. Case studies, design projects, group industrial projects, laboratory work and manufacturing plant visits will help you learn how to tailor the structure, composition and processing of materials to meet design requirements. You'll also develop skills useful for managing a processing plant or research and development projects. In the third year, you'll complete a five-month industry placement in the engineering sector. This is followed by a group industrial project in your final year.
