Electrical Engineering with a Foundation year

Course Description

If you don't have the usual scientific or mathematical background for an engineering degree, a foundation year is for you. You'll need to demonstrate a high level of academic ability, either through study or work. Contact the admissions tutor for further information. Our courses are flexible. You choose your own degree through a blend of core and optional modules and a major project. Levels one and two are the same for all courses, after which you'll specialise based on your interests. You're generally not tied to the degree you originally registered for. This course will give you a thorough grounding in the knowledge and skills that underpin electrical engineering. Core topics in this broad course include power systems, power electronics, electrical machines and drives, motion control systems and energy utilisation. Your study will cover theoretical and practical aspects of electrical engineering. You'll choose optional modules from our other degrees, depending on your interests.
