Civil and Structural Engineering MEng

Course Description

This course is identical to Civil Engineering in years one and two. The second half of the course incorporate a range of structural engineering modules, including bridge engineering, multi-storey building design, sustainability and geotechnics. You'll complete an integrated design group project, which involves investigating new methods and materials to design an entire eco-town or urban regeneration site, taking the lead on the project's structural aspects. Your final year includes an individual project and advanced structural modules, many taught alongside our MSc students.

You could become a consultant, designing and planning projects. You might go to work for a contractor, planning and managing the construction work itself or you might go into the public sector.
