Meng(Architectural Engineering Design)

Course Description

This course combines subjects from all the engineering disciplines associated with buildings and their infrastructure as well as providing an understanding of architectural thinking and practice. We work with the wider Engineering faculty, the School of Architecture and industry for teaching, project work and vacation placements. It's the only course in the UK to be accredited by both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Joint Board of Moderators - the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institution of Highway Engineers. This course is primarily an engineering course and does not lead to qualification as an architect.

Our graduates work all over the world, from the UK to Australia and the USA. Recent graduates work for AECOM, Amey, Arup, Atkins, BCS Design, Eastwood and Partners, Interserve, Mott MacDonald, Network Rail, Ramboll, Transport for London, URS, Volker Fitzpatrick Ltd and Volker Ltd. You could become a consultant, designing and planning projects. You might go to work for a contractor, planning and managing the construction work itself or you might go into the public sector.
