meng(Aerospace Engineering)

Course Description

This course will give you a solid understanding of aerospace engineering. After the first year you'll focus on either aeromechanics (aerodynamics, propulsion, materials and structures) or avionic systems (computing, control, electrical and electronic engineering). Our modules cover aero propulsion, aerodynamic design, aircraft dynamics and control, computational aerodynamics and engineering management. You'll complete a group project where you'll design, build and fly an unmanned aerial vehicle. Your study includes some experience of flight instrumentation and an individual investigative project of your choice. This MEng provides all the academic requirements needed for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Career outcomes

Well-qualified engineering graduates are in high demand. There are career opportunities at managerial and specialist technical levels, and in consultancy. Our graduates have gone on to work in aerospace design, aviation, transport, manufacturing, energy and power, and the armed forces. Some continue to further study or research. Employers include Airbus, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Shell and Jaguar Land Rover.
