The Agricultural Biology program provides a comprehensive background in the life sciences and allows students to focus on particular areas relevant to agriculture, such as biotechnology, genetics and evolution, plant pathology, plant molecular biology and wildlife ecology, through selection of appropriate restricted and open electives.

This program is designed to prepare students for diverse career choices in government, non-government organizations and the private sector including: technical assistants in basic biological science research projects, applied government, or university studies, and private agricultural-biotechnological companies like Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada. These projects often include both laboratory and field components extension agrologists field and aquatic biologists sales representatives Moreover, the emerging biotechnology industry will require a wide range of people with an understanding of science to manage growth in this area.
