Graduates use their skills to work in roles such as nutrition assistant, fitness or weight loss consultant, or research assistant. Many graduates combine a Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences with a postgraduate qualification to specialise in a variety of clinical and non-clinical careers. Clinical careers after postgraduate study include dietitian/nutritionist, medical practitioner, clinical exercise physiologist, audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or speech pathologist. Non-clinical careers after postgraduate study include sports scientist, sports coach, health promotion officer, community health officer, sport & recreation manager or public health manager. Completion of an Honours year and a PhD may lead to an academic career in the university sector.
