You will study a range of sciences including animal behaviour, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, health, genetics and reproduction that underpin the effective and humane production of animals for food, fibre and pharmaceuticals. You will use the latest technologies in disease control, welfare management, animal environment interactions and product quality. You will also study business principles and gain practical skills in applying these through industry placements to ensure the profitable and sustainable management of livestock & poultry. What you can study: In the production animal science major of the BSAgr(Hons) program students will undertake both an independent research project as well as course work focussing on the development of skills in research methodologies, research communication and entrepreneurship. The research project encompasses design, implementation & presentation of research in the field of production animal science. The research project will have an emphasis on defining the research issue, establishing methodology, undertaking appropriate analysis of data and drawing defensible conclusions.
