There is virtually no area of world politics in which international law does not play a role, and international law cannot be fully understood without an appreciation of the political context in which it operates.

Career opportunities are diverse but may include positions in government ministry in areas such as foreign affairs, trade, defence, human rights or the environment. Other opportunities may include positions in nongovernment organisations or international organisations such as the United Nations.
