What's it all about? Surveying supports all construction activity and infrastructure engineering in urban and rural environments, as well as mapping and monitoring the natural environment. The services of professional surveyors include; defining land boundaries, engineering and mining surveying, offshore surveys, digital mapping, precise positioning and property development. Registered surveyors are the only professionals who can redefine land boundaries. What does it include? Surveying is a perfect combination of indoors and outdoors. You will learn how to use a range of hi-tech tools such as GPSs, laser scanners, mapping drones and surveying robots to create high definition 3D models of the built and natural environment. You will also learn how to apply maths and powerful software to deliver products for a range of applications. To get you work ready, you'll apply these skills through 60-days of approved industry training. Where will you work? Surveying is a global profession facing a major skills shortage with excellent opportunities in industries that underpin land markets, urban and rural development, and engineering construction. The four-year BE (Surveying) program is required for registration as a surveyor. Later you may design and manage major new land developments, ensure complex infrastructure is built to specifications, optimise mining operations and more. Dual degrees: Dual degrees are a great way of graduating with a wider breadth of knowledge, better preparing you for your future career.
