This degree has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of students looking to embark on an undergraduate computing degree, but who lack the academic qualifications to start immediately on one of our programmes. We encourage applications from students with A level, Access, BTEC, or professional qualifications, and will consider a variety of alternatives as equivalent to our stated entry requirements. Students on the programme come from a wide range of backgrounds including those who have studied relevant subjects to an appropriate level but did not achieve the necessary grades and those with work experience who may not have formal qualifications in relevant areas. Students have on average 15 hours of contact time per week with teaching staff through lectures, laboratory sessions and seminars, though this may vary depending on module choices. Additionally, students should allocate at least 25 hours per week for study, coursework assignments and projects.
