Engineering Management Masters MSc postgraduate degree

Course Description

We offer three modular programmes intended for those aspiring towards senior positions in: Project Management (PM) Operations Management (OM) Engineering Management (EM) Delivery is "block teaching" whereby 10 credit modules are delivered in one-week blocks and 20 credit modules over two weeks, enabling each programme to be taken full-time (1 year) or part-time (2 years) as preferrred. Rather than just teaching students, we help them to learn through a combination of guided study, investigations, projects and research i.e. "enquiry-based learning"

Career outcomes

This degree is aimed at holders of at least an upper second class Honours degree in engineering or similar who would benefit from completing technically-based study with some management at postgraduate level. You might be just finishing your first degree, or perhaps already in your first role and looking to advance your career. You will learn about systems modelling and systems engineering, as well as the application of problem structuring methods in real engineering situations. You will also learn how to analyse different management strategies and apply critical appraisal techniques in a variety of technical areas, e.g. construction, production, manufacturing. On completion, you will have gained the skills and knowledge required work in industrial engineering and/or technical management.
