Course Details

MSc(Finance and Real Estate)

Course Description

This programme builds on many years of experience in running finance and real estate MSc’s at the University of Aberdeen. This new course brings together these two complementary disciplines and offers the student both RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation and the opportunity to take the leading professional finance qualification, CFA level 1, during the course. Equipped with not only an MSc from a prestigious university but with recognised professional accreditation/qualifications in both disciplines should put students in an excellent position when looking at job and career opportunities. Those students who do not wish to take the CFA exam have an alternative research-based programme whilst their colleagues are working on the CFA material. The academic programme is up-to-date and provides a high level of understanding of both theoretical and numerical material. The university has market-leading financial databases (the Thomson-Reuters Eikon suite) to support both the teaching and the individual study of students. All students finish their programme with a dissertation, giving them the opportunity to show their ability to address and answer a research issue under the supervision of academic staff
