Course Description

Individuals interested in helping others will find a degree in human services will prepare them for a variety of professional roles. Human services professionals may choose areas of practice that allow them to assist children and families, the elderly, the homeless, immigrants or veterans. In addition, human services professionals may assist people with addictions, criminal records, disabilities and mental illnesses. Human services professionals work in a variety of organizations such as those assisting people with finding employment and appropriating food, nutrition, housing and shelter. Human services professionals may also serve as victims’ assistants or work in public safety or disaster relief.
