Bachelor of Medical Bioscience

Course Description

The highly technical field of medical bioscience is all about the human body, health care and disease. But you won't be peering through microscopes all the time. Fieldwork with a laboratory or community health organisation and professional training are also built into your course. You'll study a wide range of topics, including anatomy, biochemistry, cellular metabolism, immunology, medical microbiology, human physiology, pharmacology and pathology. Every subject is tailored to meet the specific demands of our region, and we make sure you leave with a sound understanding of ethics. The course commences with a foundation year, covering biology, biotechnology, chemistry and statistical reasoning and analysis. You also study a wide range of topics specific to medical bioscience and undertake a professional attachment to a clinical or medical laboratory.
