Business analytics focuses on the analysis, mapping and design of business processes and systems. This minor provides practical skills in how to use analytical tools and simulation software to solve business problems. You will learn how to: look for patterns and trends in data sets using quantitative methods, data mining and visualisation advise organisations on how to use these patterns to solve problems, create better systems and add value Data and case studies will be drawn from diverse sources including health, social networking, economic data, web and customer traffic and scientific research. This minor will add an extra string to the bow of Information Technology (IT) students who want to work in business or finance, or Business students who want to strengthen their job prospects with IT-based analytical skills.
