Course Description

The Griffith Law School offers a professional legal curriculum that focuses on the core areas of legal practice together with legal skills that lawyers must have. It also provides you with opportunities to choose law electives that are aligned with your own particular interests. You can also take advantage of study abroad opportunities and gain credit towards your Griffith degree for approved courses taken at international universities. Griffith Law School staff are committed to a set of values which guide their teaching and research, as well as their relationships with students. These values are summarised as Scholarship, Character, Responsibility and Respect. You will also learn how to apply psychological theories to topics such as thinking and perceiving, motivation, stress, health, criminal activity, and group behaviour. You will also learn how to evaluate and understand tests that measure intellectual, behavioural and emotional states. You will develop interpersonal and communication skills and learn about the principles of counselling and core areas of psychology. You will learn how to help people with personal, health, vocational and social difficulties. The Bachelor of Laws with Honours encompasses 30 credit points of research dissertation. As well as the opportunity for career and skill advancement, the Honours program creates a pathway for Law students to move to Higher Degree Research (HDR) studies via the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs.
