Course Description

The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition is actively involved in a wide range of research activities that all revolve around our central mission, to illuminate the role of food and nutrition in the health of society. The Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition includes advanced studies of nutrition science, food microbiology, preservation and safety, health properties of food and food components, and the development and dissemination of nutrition principles in the community. A minimum of 72 credits is required for the Ph.D. degree. A minimum of 42 credits is required with a master’s degree in the same field of study. Contact the department for more information.
