This course aims to provide health professionals with the knowledge and skills to plan and execute a substantial piece of ethical research with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability in a range of health contexts according to their discipline. Students undertake research training via interdisciplinary coursework units combined with a research thesis. The course offers specialisations in the following health sciences disciplines: exercise science, midwifery, nursing, occupational therapy, paramedicine, physiotherapy, public health and speech pathology.

The development of research knowledge will assist health professionals to provide leadership in evidenced based practice and contribute to research which informs health care. It may also provide an avenue to commencing a career as an academic.
