Course Details

Bachelor of Arts in Economics

Course Description

The Department of Economics provides a variety of courses and programs to fit students' needs and interests. Students combine their work in economics with study in other fields such as business, communication, and computer science. For example, a major in economics could be combined with a minor in business administration, or a major in journalism could be combined with a second major or minor in economics. Many other combinations are also available. These options allow a high degree of flexibility in choosing alternative areas of study. The major in Economics requires 120 hours of course work with 31 hours in economics and leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree. These majors are required to also pursue a second major or a minor to earn the required total hours needed for graduation. This major is very flexible and pairs well with many other majors and minors on campus. All majors must complete a 19-hour core and 12 hours of upper level courses.
