Welcome to the Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Texas at El Paso! Please have a look around our site. Within these pages you can find everything about our program such as information about our admissions process and requirements, application deadlines, prerequisites, accreditation information, and faculty and student activities. We are part of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Health Sciences, and offer a Master of Occupational Therapy degree (MOT) which can be completed in 2 ½ years. We believe in active learning and offer opportunities for students to learn in real community settings, very early in the program. The program concludes with 2 twelve week clinical fieldwork rotations, or internships. Upon completion of the didactic coursework and clinical experiences, students are eligible to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam, which, with successful completion, makes students certified and eligible for licensure in a state to practice occupational therapy.
